Nneji Akunne Nneji is the CoFounder & Creative Director at ILERA Apothecary and District Manager at General Motors. She is a 2012 graduate of Ohio University where she studied Psychology and a 2016 graduate of Franklin University where she received her MSc. in Marketing & Communications.
Throughout her career, she has been afforded the opportunity to work with companies like H&M Germany, Live Nation and Beats by Dre. Outside of her traditional 9-5 role, Nneji is a lifestyle blogger, self-proclaimed interior designer, and runs a digital media agency focused on the diversification of media concentrating on Sub-Saharan Africa. |
Paakow EssandohEssandoh is the founder and CEO of MIZIZI, an athleisure lifestyle brand, and co-founder of One Tribe Magazine, a digital publication catering to the African Diaspora. Born in New York, raised in Dallas, and adopted by Tampa- where the idea of MIZIZI born- Paakow was inspired by the lack of African cultural representation around him. At the University of South Florida, the Ghanaian-American student met George Kariuki, a Kenyan transfer, who would help bring MIZIZI to life.
At the age 20, the pair launched MIZIZI in the summer of 2015. Since then, the line has grown into a coveted streetwear brand, with a global cult following. A common speaker, Paakow's views and ideas have been featured in media and forums on topics of entrepreneurship, afropolitanism, and pop culture in the Diaspora. |
Ibrahima SowSow, born in Senegal West Africa, is a longtime resident of Columbus Ohio. A recent graduate of OSU, he ran for Columbus City Council - becoming the first immigrant to make a general election in Central Ohio history. As a Community Engagement Coordinator at the Ohio History Connection, his passion is building and connecting with people. In July 2017, Sow became one of 6 Ohio Governor appointees to the State African Immigrant Commission - who's goal is to advocate for Africans at the state level. At age 26, Sow strives to inspire more young Africans to reach for higher always.
